The La Jolla Athenaeum Music & Arts Library hosts a weekly mini-concert series on Mondays at noon. This concert features Choro Sotaque and will take place at the La Jolla Athenaeum Music & Arts Library.
Choro, often called the ragtime of Brazil, is a lively music with intricate melodies that evolved in the late 1800s and became popular in the 1920s with mixed roots of African and European styles. Choro Sotaque clarinetist Stefanie Schmitz recently returned from a six-month musical odyssey in Brazil and will share music and stories from her travels.
Concert is free and will take place in the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Room
